InnerDrive are delighted to announce that Dr Claire Badger will be joining the InnerDrive team from April 2025 as Head of Teacher Professional Development.

Claire joins us from Godolphin and Latymer Schools where she is currently the Assistant Head for Teaching and Learning. Prior to that she has 18 years experience as a secondary school Chemistry teacher. During her time in her current role she obtained a Masters in Learning and Teaching from UCL’s Institute of Education, specialising in metacognition for her dissertation, and was part of the first cohort of teachers to complete the Chartered College of Teaching’s CTeach (Leadership) programme.

Over the last few years, Claire has been a regular contributor to the Chartered College of Teaching’s Impact journal as well as writing guest blogs for us here at InnerDrive. She has also presented at various educational conferences around the country including Research Ed National and The Festival of Education.

Along with co-author Jonathan Firth, Claire has written the book, Creativity for Teachers: A Cognitive Science Approach which was published as part of InnerDrive’s CPD Academy series.

As Head of Teacher Professional Development at InnerDrive, Claire will help ensure that InnerDrive continues to create and develop the highest quality materials for schools and colleges as part of their quest to become more evidence informed. This will include in-person training as well as taking our Teacher CPD Academy to the next level.

Commenting on her appointment, Claire says,

“I am thrilled to be starting at InnerDrive in April 2025. I have worked with InnerDrive in my capacity as an Assistant Head for a number of years and am continually impressed with their ability to take complex research and present it to teachers and students in ways that both engage and immediately help you to see the practical applications of the research in schools. It is a real privilege to be working as part of this team in the future”.

InnerDrive founder Edward Watson says,

“It is a real coup for us for Claire to be joining our team. This will allow us to continue to provide great CPD to schools and colleges around the country. Claire has done incredible things implementing high quality CPD at her school and we are excited as to what this might look like at scale at InnerDrive”.
