Happy New Year! We hope that you’ve had a great holiday break and are feeling refreshed and ready to go again.

At InnerDrive, we can’t wait to get started with all the exciting plans we have for 2024 – and we hope you will join us for the ride. This is what we’ve got coming up this year…

Teacher CPD made easy: The Teacher CPD Academy

We have to start with our biggest project of 2023: the Teacher CPD Academy. Our on-demand collection of courses and resources, designed to help you make in-house CPD both impactful and easy, is one of our proudest achievements of the year.

Now boasting 10 CPD topic areas, 16 student modules, contributions from 30 education experts and users in seven countries, the Teacher CPD Academy is only going to get bigger and better in 2024. We have 10 new topic areas in the works, on topics such as:

  • Becoming evidence-informed
  • Effective questioning strategies
  • Supporting SEND students
  • And more…

We are very excited to be partnering with Routledge for the Teacher CPD Academy book series. These books will cover the many applications of Cognitive Science to Teaching & Learning – and each book will be accompanied by its own interactive module on the Teacher CPD Academy.

We’re honoured to be working on this with some of our favourite people in education:

  • Blake Harvard
  • Rachel Ball and Alex Fairlamb
  • Dr Jonathan Firth and Dr Claire Badger
  • Haili Hughes and Sarah Cottingham
  • Nikki Sullivan, Kelly Tatlock and Lucy Lowde
  • Katie Holmes
  • Bradley Busch, Edward Watson and Matthew Shaw
  • And more to be announced…

Be inspired at The Teaching & Learning Summit

Our yearly CPD conference in partnership with Eton College and the Tony Little CIRL is back for its third edition. This year, the Teaching & Learning Summit spans two days. We hope to see you for:

  • Friday 9th February – We start with an exclusive evening with Doug Lemov, where you’ll get to enjoy a 90-minute talk and a live Q&A with one of the most inspirational educators out there.
  • Saturday 10th February – A day of inspiring CPD talks from an all-star line-up of expert speakers: Peps McCrea, Sarah-Jayne Blakemore, Amarbeer Singh Gill, Mary Myatt, Doug Lemov, Lucy Crehan, Jonnie Noakes, Dr Iro Konstantinou, and Bradley Busch.
  • Plenty of networking opportunities with like-minded educators (and a goodie bag packed with free resources).

We always leave this conference buzzing, inspired and motivated – and we know you will too. Book your ticket before they’re all gone…

We’ve loved meeting all of you and hearing from many of our education heroes at the conferences we’ve been invited to this year. We hope to see you again in 2024 at our workshops and conferences in England, Italy, Dubai, America, Thailand, China, and more…

High-impact CPD made easy. Develop evidence-informed CPD at your school, using our exclusive online collection of courses and resources.

Spotlight on research

One of our favourite projects to work on this past year has been the Teaching & Learning Spotlight, a quarterly magazine + webinar combo in collaboration with educational research superstar, Jade Pearce.

In each edition, Jade and our Lead Psychologist, Bradley Busch take a close look at 10 recent Teaching & Learning research papers, explore what they mean for educators, and suggest how to apply their findings in schools.

We are delighted to bring it back for another year, with 2024 subscriptions now open to purchase. The next edition is only a couple of weeks away, so join us on 16th January to look at pre-testing, multiple-choice questions for Retrieval Practice, student motivation, and more…

Teaching & Learning Illuminated: The big ideas, illustrated

Finally, we can’t talk about 2023 without mentioning our latest book: Teaching & Learning Illuminated: The Big Ideas, Illuminated.

We’re eternally grateful to our editors at Routledge for trusting us and letting us publish such an unusual book: it’s big, it’s hardback, it’s colourful, it’s illuminating.

We wanted to make complex, daunting research into something you’ll want to engage with and pick up again and again, through beautifully illustrated graphics and clear, no-fluff descriptions.

We believe we’ve achieved just that, with Peps Mc Crea calling Teaching & Learning Illuminated “a warm bath for your brain”, John Hattie “visual learning at its best”, and Mary Myatt the “best synthesis of Cognitive Science ever”.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to grab your copy.

Let’s work together in 2024

We’re sure you and your school also have big plans for 2024, and we would love to help you achieve them. So, get in touch with our team and let’s chat about how we can support your staff and students’ development this year.
