Matt Shaw is a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow at The British Psychological Society. He is Head of Sales at InnerDrive, which he joined in 2018. Over the past five years he has delivered hundreds of workshops to students in schools around the UK, empowering them to build resilience and excel in the face of exam pressure.
With roots in Sport Psychology, Matt has supported Team GB’s Olympic success, helping athletes to secure medals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Drawing on his own background as a rugby player, Matt is a passionate advocate for the power of research in cultivating a winning mindset.
Matt is the author of many of the InnerDrive blogs, and is currently collaborating on a book with co-authors, Bradley Busch and Edward Watson. This book focuses on how to read, understand and use Cognitive Science research to change your mind. He has also written for other platforms including Changing States of Mind, and has published research on cognitive processing in golfers.
Although much of his focus is now on educational psychology and workshops, Matt is still regularly interviewed and featured in sport media. These include the BBC Radio 4 Today Show, Sky Sports, and Rugby Coach Weekly. He is also an avid supporter of Chelsea FC.
